The house belonging to the family of the famous literary figure Sait Faik Abasıyanık was partially regulated at the beginning and opened to visiting in 1959. In 1963, when his mother Makbule Abasıyanık died, the house was donated to Darüşşafaka to be a museum according to her will. The house of Sait Fait Abasıyanık was designed as a museum house with its original uses and furnishings by a project which was carried out simultaneously with the restoration of the house in 2012. In the rooms where all of the original items can not be found, his life and literature are presented with his various personal items, photographs, manuscripts and books. On the basement a library with books belonging to Abasıyanık was established and this area was transformed into a workshop area especially for cultural activities related to children and to the theme of the museum.
